My first experiment in flash has left me stunned at the success this has generated. As of now, I am working on the first public alpha of "Star Angels" a fast-paced shooter born from a mix between the old Atari classics and the head-splitting "denmaku" (bullet hell) shooters. In this game, you pilot an "Angel of Death" recruit, one of many in her class who are set against their final exam in the hopes of passing and becoming one of the Overlord's most prized women warriors! (The overlord of centurion prime, not me mind you (even though that technically is me)) Suited up in an anti-gravity flight suit and equipped with a pulse cannon, you are sent into an onslaught of enemy ships, cruisers, carriers, and even the Sonic harbinger; not even taking into account their brutish boss masters; seven individuals ranging from another Angel scout, to the overlord himself, and even the Balance; the most powerful being in the universe.

It's a massive fight that'll keep you going and going! -bangs, blasts, shock waves, invincibility, foolhardy enemies, nukes, and of course; EXTREMELY BUTTHURT bosses are just a few of the things so cleverly mixed up that will appear in the final public release.

The public alpha will feature the full HUD interface and all the currently required sounds I can see that should be in use. In this alpha version, you'll only be able to fight one boss though; but with only your lonely pulse cannon, it should still be interesting! Oh, and one piece of advice when the release comes; don't die. There are no checkpoints, but there are health crates! (You can pick these up and store 'em for later.)

Oh, and don't worry! -There will be a total of six primary weapons in the final release, I presume the first three of which will be available in the public beta! Just for the sake of it the weapons are:
Pulse Cannon: Your standard weapon, fires super-heated blasts of ionic plasma. single-shot be small recharge time.
Beam Rifle (also called the beam rider): Fires a super-hot salvo of ionic energy in a straight beam. Does more damage than the pulse, but has longer recharge time.
Phoenix cannon: Rapid-fire nuclear plasma machine cannon, mows down entire rows of enemies without a sweat, but can overheat and stall.
Gauss Bombardier: Fires a depleted tungsten rod at near light-speed using magneto acceleration. Requires ammo that must be found in play, but packs a heavy punch.
Gauss Ripper: A secret weapon unlockable that is essentially the same as its lighter counterpart, but with half the recharge time and almost one-third extra damage.
Ionic Redeemer: Another secret weapon unlockable. This thing does exactly what you might assume; obliterates everything on screen in a massive thunderous detonation that ironically has no effect on you, and there's a special projectile for this that is found during game play...

With this said, the tower is under work as always, but nothing will be spear-headed during the holidays; as I pretty much celebrate myself into a food induced coma, so the material wouldn't be any good anyway...
